Mandarin Oriental Barcelona is a sensual journey through design, history and culinary finesse that begins in the heart of Passeig de Gràcia. Although luxury is its middle name, it is the details and stories hidden within the walls of the former bank that make this place special.

Old bank, new identity
The hotel is housed in the restored Banco Hispano Americano building, and its interiors were designed by Patricia Urquiola. It's a combination of modernist elegance with futuristic touches - the lobby with its glass footbridge resembles a set from a sci-fi movie, and the Blanc restaurant impresses with geometric patterns inspired by Islamic architecture.
There are 120 rooms and suites, many of which offer views of the Passeig de Gràcia or the Mimosa inner garden. Interiors are decorated with Tai Ping silk carpets, Bassano ceramics and furniture designed by Urquiola especially for the place. Each suite has access to a 24-hour concierge team that takes care of every detail of your stay.
A culinary journey with Michelin stars
Moments Restaurant, run by Carme Ruscalleda and her son Raül Balam, offers Catalan cuisine with a modern twist and boasts two Michelin stars. For those looking for lighter fare and panoramic views, Terrat Terrace, serving Peruvian cuisine, is ideal. Banker's Bar, with a ceiling adorned with safes from the banking era, is where history meets modernity.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental is a relaxation space with a 12-meter pool, oriental steam room and treatments based on Valmont and Miriam Quevedo products. It's the perfect place to recuperate after a busy day in Barcelona.
Details that make history
The hotel is full of tastes: from the ceiling with safes in the Banker's Bar, to the designer furniture, to the thoughtful details in the rooms. It's a place where every element tells a story, and guests can feel part of the tale. Mandarin Oriental Barcelona is more than a luxury hotel - it's an experience that combines history, design and culinary art in one place - and you can feel it if only over a cup of coffee in the lobby!
